Student: Emily Weaver, clarinet student from 2014 to 2016.

"I am very excited to be attending Queen's University for music this fall. I started playing clarinet about 9 years ago and took private lessons when I was younger. Throughout elementary and high school I was involved in many bands within the school and the community. I started taking lessons with Christine about 3 years ago and never dreamed I would be at the level to be accepted into any university music program, but with her amazing teaching skills and supportive attitude it has given me many opportunities for performing and developing my skills. Even though I am very nervous for university, I am also very excited to meet new people, expand my knowledge and experience another level of music. Clarinet has not always been easy and can be quite frustrating at times, but I can finally see that all my hard work has paid off! Over the years clarinet has given me confidence, taught me perseverance and given me the gift and passion for music. One important thing I have learned is to never give up, you don't have to be the best, all you have to do is work hard and try your best and you will succeed! The most important thing is to have fun and enjoy music!

I have been very fortunate to have Christine as my teacher and I want to thank her for everything she has done for me!"
